Charity progs

Football Programmes for Charity – Not for Profit is our way of supporting the Charitable Sector.

In September 2020, after a meeting with Jason Guy (@wolvespremier) of TheWolfWhistlePodcast fame,  I started to list programmes on the site where the proceeds would go entirely to charity. The initial stock was from Jason himself. But then, and during a ‘programme amnesty’ initiative, journalist and broadcaster James Fielden donated another big batch.

James’ mother Deb and I met at a service station on the A5. Discretely moving carrier bags between our cars, we looked very shady!!

From there it grew.  Retired Police Inspector Jim from Todwick near Sheffield phoned me. He was about to bin a stack of Sheffield Wednesday programmes and asked if I wanted them. I told him about the Breast Cancer Now initiative. Having recently lost his wife to this awful disease he was delighted that his programmes would raise funds for the fight.

We then added The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity to the list of recipients for funds. They had provided tremendous support and care for Jason’s newborn.

Then I was emailed by a lady living in France. She had recently emigrated there and had taken in a rescue dog. The Charity asked her if they knew anyone who help sell some Football Programmes for Charity – Not for Profit, to raise funds.

We received a fabulous donation of programmes which will be on our website during April / May 2021. The proceeds will go to Les Amis des Animaux .

At the end of February 2020 Mandy emailed me, advising she was about to ‘bin’ her son’s Millwall programme collection!! Did we want them?

Once again these are due for upload April / May 2021 and this time proceeds will be directed to Help for Heroes (@HelpforHeroes). They do fabulous work, but I sincerely hope they never need to help my daughter or my niece!
